Background: When Taurus was 15, he left the farming village he had grown up in. Departing in order to prevent the rest of his family from starving during a famine, he had little notion of what to do once he left. After three years on the road, however, he fell in love with the idea of simply travelling. He adores meeting all the people that he does in his journeying, enjoys helping out in order to earn a meal or a place to stay for an evening. Early on in Intus, Taurus meets Djinn, and decides to travel with her. (He's used to meeting people and moving with them until one of them reaches their destination.) After realizing what Djinn is seeking, he feels compelled to stay with her and help. Taurus has had a few semi-permanent jobs in his travelling, including barkeep at an inn. If he's short on cash, he may gamble, something which he is (surprisingly) good at.
Taurus' unnatural eye and hair colour is a trait that has ran in his family for as long as any of them can remember - it is regarded as a curiousity, nothing more. (In actuality, it indicates that in the very distant past, Taurus had a drow ancestor, but this is entirely irrelevant to Intus, especially given that in Taurus' time, the drow are scarcely more than a myth.) He carries a lute, but is a wretched bard, something that he wants to improve upon, but is rather unlikely. He gains the staff at Djinn's request, and obtains staff lessons from Maetis over the course of Intus.

Personality: Taurus is an extremely nice person, sometimes to the point of being annoying. He comes across as niave, and while he is niave, he's not quite so niave as he appears - he just tries to see goodness in everyone. He's a persistant optimist, and fretfully insecure, never certain that he's saying the right thing, often causing him to apologize more than needed. Despite all this, he sees beauty in nearly every aspect of life, and is a pretty fun-loving and happy-go-lucky guy. He genuinely likes helping people, because seeing other people happy makes him happy as well.
