The Rescue of Ares A brief explanation. The Rescue of Ares was a comic that I created in second year University for my Classical Mythology course. What I do here is (re)tell a story that can be found in Book V of Homer's Iliad (5.395-91) and Apollodorus (1.7.4). There are differences between the two versions, and I've attempted to splice them together in a way that (I hope) makes sense. Naturally, I have also taken some creative liberty with the story. If you're especially curious about these sorts of things, you can read the essay. I chose this story because Hermes and Ares are two of my favourite Greek Gods, and because it was conveniently short.
